Wombourne resident Jo Payne will be running both the Brighton and London marathons in April, in aid of Alzheimer’s Research. This is in memory of her mother-in-law, who lost her fight with this hideous disease at Christmas in 2015.

To support this effort,

The Mount Pub

in Wombourne is holding a

Race Night on

11th March

to raise funds for this wonderful charity. There will be 8 races during the course of the evening, plus a raffle and auction, which have so far attracted some brilliant prizes – including a signed picture of Lewis Hamilton’s F1 car, a signed Wolves shirt, and a very fancy set of brand new hair straighteners. There is even a chance to win a full house clean, and the use of a handyman for a full 3 hours for all those jobs you never get round to doing.

Tickets are now on sale at £3 each, and sponsorship for a race is also available which will be a fantastic use of £50 for any local businesses who would like to hear their name mentioned multiple times during the evening. You can also donate money to “own” a horse and choose its name .
