Orton Group Wombourne £25k fundraising pledge

Wombourne based Orton Group are celebrating their 25th business anniversary in true style by pledging to raise £25,000 for five worthwhile charities.

Orton Group is marking its birthday this year by launching a company-wide initiative which will see every member of its team take part in a series of events in aid of five charities – the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Peter Pan Nursery, Motor Neurone Disease Association, Guide Dogs for the Blind, and Cancer Research UK.

“To have reached our 25 years in business is a huge cause for celebration,” explained Andrew Lowe, Managing Director of Orton Group. “I set up the business when I was just 21 years old, and we have grown to employ some of the industry’s top mechanical and electrical engineers, and work with some of the nation’s biggest rail, social housing, new build and domestic housing organisations.

“We decided that there was no better way to celebrate than giving back to our local community and making a pledge to raise funds for charities close to our hearts. Since we announced it, we have already taken part in some of our events, and have so far raised a fantastic amount of £4,172.”

Two members of Orton Group – including Andrew – have taken part in a 28-day Juicing Challenge which saw various fruit and vegetables delivered to the office and blended into healthy drinks, raising £2,800.00. In addition, six members of staff completed the Race for Life 5K charity walk on Sunday 10th July, raising £843.00.

“We have a number of other challenges taking place in the months running up to our official birthday in November, including a mountain bike ride which will see us riding from dawn until dusk over Cannock Chase, as well as our Snowdon Challenge in September which will see us complete the most rugged and gruelling of the six paths, totalling around 12kms.
