The Platinum Jubilee celebrations this weekend were always going to be subject to the vagaries of the greatest topic of conversation in these islands; the weather!

Current thoughts are that Friday may see a few showers developing for the concert and event at the Civic Centre.

Sunday, when many Jubilee street parties are due to be held is looking a little on the wet and cool side. Outbreaks of rain reach us from the south on Sunday morning and may turn more persistent later in the morning and into the afternoon.

The early wind means that Sedgley may play a part in keeping some of the heaviest rain away from us, but generally it is set to be a damp and rather cold afternoon.

Of course, we could be wrong, but the signs are not looking that great right now.

We’ll just have to keep dry and carry on!
