2014 marks the 40th Anniversary of South Staffordshire Council, and to celebrate this special occasion the Council are hosting The South Staffordshire Community Awards.

As well as celebrating 40 years of serving the community, the awards aim to bring together local businesses and residents to recognise, celebrate and reward the achievements and commitment of those who have truly made a difference to life in South Staffordshire.

The Council want to honour those who have really made a difference to their communities, but they need your help.

Who do you know?

If you know someone who has truly made a difference to community life in Wombourne, then tell us who they are and the great things they have done.

Here’s the main categories in the Community Awards:

• Lifetime Achievement
• Young Volunteer
• Outstanding Organisation
• Community Volunteer
• Carer’s Award
• Business Support in the Community
• Group Award
• Bringing People Together
• Contribution in Support of Young People
• Inspiration Award

Also, there will also be the Chairman’s special award. This will be presented to either an individual, group of people or organisation the Chairman of the Council would like to recognise for their outstanding service and dedication to community life in South Staffordshire. The winner will be selected from all the nominations received.

The winners of each category will be presented with a certificate and award at an Awards Ceremony that is to be held on Friday 10^th October 2014.

Who can make a nomination?

Local residents, council staff, councillors, businesses, organisations, groups, teachers and volunteers – in fact anyone who wants to make a nomination.

Photographs?

Photographs to support a nomination are welcome. A maximum of 3 photographs can be used. Your nominee must give consent and agree for us to use the photograph.

Please ensure the photo consent form is completed and signed by the person(s) in the photo.  Please also ensure the form clearly states which nomination category the photograpghs support.
