A massive well done to over 30 Evolution leisure staff and members who competed in the Tough Guy challenge – a 15km course, dubbed the “Full Brutal Jacket”, which included more than 250 obstacles said to induce “extreme fear or panic”.

Competitors tackled barbed wire, trenches and even fire in the event, which takes place in freezing and muddy conditions every winter on farmland in Perton, near Wolverhampton.

It was a fantastic day, which was the climax to all the effort and training sessions over the last 3 months. The team pulled and pushed each other over the line and beyond…. even dressing and showering the ones who the cold had just got too much for! There was a great team spirit and an experience everyone will treasure for some time. The support was unrivalled so thanks to all the other members, friends and family who came to cheer the team on. Evolution leisure have also managed to raise over £2000 for Compton Hospice so thanks to everyone who donated.

Each and every member can be proud of the effort they showed tackling one the hardest assault courses in the world. The way people have conducted themselves and dedicated much time and effort before, during and after the event is truly humbling. The manager Reece said “We are extremely proud to have you as members, Sunday afternoon proved one thing more than anything else that we’re not just a team, we are a family.”
