We’re excited to announce that Wombourne Carnival will be back this year on the first Sunday in July with a theme of “Wonderful World of Cinema”. With the insurance issues resolved the carnival will be taking place at the Civic Centre on Sunday 5th July and we are especially pleased that the much-loved Carnival Parade will also be happening.

Carnival Chairperson, Victoria Bratt, said: “We are thrilled to be bringing Wombourne Carnival back for the local community especially as we can include the parade which has long been a well-loved tradition. This is the perfect place and time to be celebrating the very best of Wombourne and creating a community spirit amongst families and groups in the village, we want the day to be enjoyable for the whole family and we hope the event is well supported by residents of and visitors to Wombourne.”

The parade will have an earlier start time of 12pm to allow residents and guests of Wombourne to line the parade route to cheer on the floats and follow them up to the main carnival site for the official opening at 1pm. The Parade will start at Wombourne Civic Centre, passing down Gravel Hill, Common Road, Giggetty Lane, Planks Lane, Church Road, High street and back to Wombourne Civic Centre. There will be temporary road closures during the parade so we ask for your patience during this time and hope people join in the festivities.
