On Saturday 29th March, three members of South Staffs Karate in Wombourne competed at the ASKC competition in Woodsetton.
Despite the day in local Woodsetton being slightly marred by a poorly contolled event, three less experienced SSK members represented the club very very well bringing home 2 GOLDS and 2 SILVER between them!
In his first ever competition little Sam Shaw faught off all opponents with a mature confidence, even after being uncontrollably punched round the head, to win GOLD in his Kumite event.
Sam narrowly defeated team-mate Dylan Johnson in an all-SSK final. Both boys did the club and themselves proud! Tilly Steele also won a silver medal in her Kumite event, again having to overcome some unruly opponents.
Dylan added to his Kumite silver by comfortably winning the junior grades Kata event, beating opponents more than three times his age!!! WELL DONE to all three of you!
