This week on the Wombourne Facebook Group, we’ve been chatting about all the new shopping developments in Wombourne. Someone then pointed out that “A half decent childrens playground would be wonderful!”. It seems that many would agree and the state of some of the playgrounds we have are less that satisfactory.

Then it was brought to our attention that Wombourne will be having a MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) next month. This is exciting news and has been years in the making.

The Wombourne Youth Action Team (WYAT)– a small group of young Wombourne residents with the support of the Wombourne Community and Learning Partnership have managed to secure funding for the project from Staffordshire Youth Bank and the support of the parish council and local partner agencies.

The hardwork of the young people paid off with the MUGA due for installation on the Brick Bridge Lane Playing Fields by the end of March. When we have more information, we’ll bring it to you. Please add your thoughts and comments below.
